I have found interesting article written by in Bike Friday site.
As you can see from pictures, folding bicycle fit at train station locker in Japan. 5$ per day is reasonable price as well. I think this is really convenient especially for students and business man who live near station.
In here Australia, it is possible to take own bicycle into train so the situation may be a bit different though.
